The 2008 International Conference on Intelligent Pervasive Computing
(IPC-08) will be held in Sydney, Australia in December 10-12th, 2008.
The IPC08 Organizing Committees invites researchers and practitioners to submit proposals for workshops on topics pertaining to pervasive computing in line with the topics of the conference. The past IPC conference has been accompanied by successful workshops on a variety of subjects, like pervasive middleware, radio frequency identification, architecture for pervasive devices and computers, intelligent and ubiquitous computing in education, and intelligent healthcare systems.
Workshops may be driven by fundamental academic interests, or by more applied industrial or commercial interests. We encourage a diversity of workshops. The main purpose is to provide participants with a friendly, interactive atmosphere for presenting novel ideas and discussing their application.
Proposals should include: The name, the preferred date and length
(half-day/day/multiple-day) of the proposed workshop. A short scientific summary of the topic, its scope and significance, including a discussion on its relation to the themes of IPC08. A very brief CV of the organizers. A description of past versions of the workshop, if any, including dates, organizers, submission and acceptance counts, and attendance. Call for paper of the workshop (draft version), including tentative list of program committee members (name, affiliation, country, email address). Procedure for selecting papers, plans for dissemination (for example, special issues of journals), and the expected number of participants.
Important dates:
Workshops proposal submission: June 30, 2008 (final deadline) Workshops acceptance notification: Ongoing as received (within few days) Camera-ready due: September 15th, 2008 Workshops date: December 10-12th, 2008 The IPC organization offers: Link from IPC and Workshops web sites. Setup of meeting space, and related equipment. All conference package including proceedings, coffee breaks, reception and banquet, etc. Proceedings publication by IEEE Computer Society Press.
The organizers and chairs of the workshop shall have full control on the call for papers, forming of program committees, review and selection of papers as well as planning the workshop program. The registration fees for workshops will be determined by the conference. Any further expense of the workshop such as the financial aid to the invited/keynote speakers must be provided by the workshop itself. The workshops with more than 15 papers will be granted with a free complimentary registration for the leading workshop organizer.
